STUDENT SELECTION PROCESS

Applicants and their families must show a strong interest and commitment to the student's education. The student selection process is designed to identify students whose needs might be best served by the Big Picture philosophy.

The following criteria have been established as guidelines for the selection process.
  1. Each family must complete the Community Connections Application, which includes student information, parental permission and student questionnaire.
  2. At Community Connections, family engagement and support is crucial. We ask you to carefully consider and respond in a short essay to the following question.
    - Applicant: Why do you feel Community Connections is the right high school for you?
    - Parent/Guardian: Why do you feel Community Connections is the high school best suited to meet your child's needs?
  3. All students must be able to work independently in a chosen internship.
  4. Students with a recent history of antisocial or violent behavior will not be considered.
  5. Students and families must undergo a personal interview with the admissions team as the final step in the application process.
